Profile: Asma completed her Masters degree in Public Policy (MPP) from Georgetown University, Washington D.C in 2014 as a Fulbright Scholar. Prior to that, Asma holds a BBA and MBA from NUST Business School in Islamabad, where she majored in Marketing and Human Resource Management respectively. For her MPP thesis, Asma studied the wage differential between women home-based workers and women formal workers in Pakistan. Currently, Asma is currently working for CERP as a Research Associate with the Broadening the Tax Base (BTB) Project in Islamabad, working closely with the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) BTB Team in order to develop policy solutions to assist the FBR in it’s efforts to increase the number of income tax filers. Asma also has over 6 years of experience in various UN Agencies, including, UN Women, UNIDO, UN RCO and UN HIC in Pakistan. She has worked for Women’s Equality and Economic Empowerment, Disaster Relief and Recovery, Industrial Development and the ‘One-UN: Delivering as One’ pilot program.
