This video features the Lahore Development Economics Research Seminar led by Dr. Jishnu Das, a lead economist of The World Bank, at the CERP office. The LEDRS seminars are a series of informal academic seminars with two primary purposes. First, they aim to allow Lahore-based and development economics researchers, including early-career researchers, to present work in progress in an informal setting and get constructive feedback and ideas from a larger group of colleagues beyond their own institutions. Second, they will provide a forum for visiting development economics researchers to present their research, and thus facilitate continuing exposure for Lahore-based researchers to current research topics and methods. The seminar which was held at the CERP office was primarily attended by research teams of projects that work on impact evaluation related development interventions in Pakistan. At the seminar, Dr. Jishnu Das presented his paper titled “The Misallocation of Pay and Productivity in the Public Sector: Evidence from the Labor Market for Teachers”. His presentation was followed by a discussion of results and an interactive q&A with the audience.
