A learning-oriented work culture forms the ethos of CERP. We believe in investing and empowering our people through professional training and development to help them grow and acquire skills that help them in their professional journey.
Most recently, Alieha Shahid, Programme Manager on Women’s Mobility Project (WMP), successfully became PMD Pro 1 certified while attending a three day ‘PMD Pro 1: The Essentials of Project Management’ workshop organised by Humentum from 29-31 January 2019 in Washington DC.
Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) is a globally recognised project management certification intended for people in the development sector. The workshop intends to equip new project managers in the development sector and NGOs to effectively initiate, plan, execute and close out international development projects.
Speaking about her experience of the training, Alieha said ‘I got the chance to interact with Project Managers from NGOs, INGOs and charity organisations from all over the world and we discussed how we are dealing with so many similar challenges as the ones we face in implementing our projects at CERP.’ On the content of the training and faculty, she found the curriculum ‘robust and the trainers experienced as they were industry experts who taught valuable project management techniques to manage the complex scope, budget and time constraints of development projects.’ Overall Alieha found The PMD Pro 1 training ‘an incredibly enriching experience’.
