CERP and TFCL collaborate on Market Research & Analytics

Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) and Taleem Finance Company Ltd (TFCL), a non-banking financial institution, entered into an exciting collaboration on Friday 08 November, 2019 where CERP will collect market data and knowledge for TFCL. In addition, it will also analyse data and provide high-powered insights and predictive analytics to the collected data for TFCL.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Maroof A. Syed, President and CEO CERP, and Mr. Kamran Azim, CEO TFCL. Mr. Azim attributed the partnership as a form of ‘direction setting for TFCL’ and said “This collaboration is imperative for TFCL to start its work, as this helps us identify the target market that we would be accessing. We feel that this market research will not only helps us identify the target audience but also helps us better identify their needs for effective service delivery. This will become very instrumental in helping us develop the products and align our products with the needs of the customer but also help us serve them at the best possible level. For us this collaboration is a move in the right direction”. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Syed reiterated the importance of the role of education in the long term growth of the economy and regarding this alliance with TFCL he said, “Education is an important sector- fastest growing SME and collaboration with TFCL is a step forward in the right direction.”
CERP’s Analytics Unit will play a crucial role in helping TFCL convert knowledge into action by generating insights and results on the collected data by the Survey Unit at CERP. Maha Rehman, Analytics Lead at CERP, added that “It is critical for a young organisation to optimally allocate resources by employing high-powered insights and predictive analytics on market and administrative data – CERP Analytics will work with Taleem Finance to embed data in their operations in year one using data collected by CERP’s Survey Unit as well as TFCL’s own sales and administrative data.” Osman Haq, Manager Survey Unit at CERP shared that “CERP’s experience in the education sector brings an insight into this collaboration that can prove to be a catalyst to the success and penetration of TFCL’s financial products made specifically for medium and low cost schools. CERP Survey will be leveraging all the research and practical experience it has gained to develop the best possible tools to collect accurate and meaningful data, which TFCL can use to leap into the education financing market.”
Amid frenetic education reforms that Pakistan is facing and with 22.5 million out-of- school children. TFCL is an organisation committed to enhance the human potential by providing financial and non-financial support to middle and low-cost private school for capacity building through infrastructure improvements, establishing best practices in school management principles, improving their sustainability and overall learning outcomes resulting in higher employability for their students especially girls , thus contributing towards a gender equitable and literate society.
