Ghazala Mansuri is a Lead Economist in the Poverty Reduction and Equity Group at the World Bank. She holds a PhD in Economics from Boston University. Mansuri joined the World Bank in 1998 as a Young Economist in the Development Research Group where she worked till October 2010. Before joining the Bank she taught at the Master’s level at UCLA and Boston University. Her research spans four broad areas: Rural land, labor and credit markets; the economics of household behavior; the political economy of participatory development and institutional and governance reforms for development. She has published widely in academic journals including the American Economic Review, The Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of Development Economics and the World Bank Economic Review among others.
