Sultan Mehmood is a PhD candidate at the University of Paris. Previously, he worked as a policy advisor to the Dutch government at the Central Planning Bureau, Hague.
He completed his Master's degree in Public Policy and Development from the Paris School of Economics and a second Master's degree in Economics from the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands. His research focuses on the political economy of courts where in his dissertation he explores the workings of the judiciary and its interaction with other formal and informal institutions. He has been awarded an Economic Development and Institutions (EDI) grant to study courts in Pakistan, best paper award at the Institutional and Organizational Economics Academy.
He has also given talks at several prestigious conferences in economics and political science (e.g. ALEA, APSA, ASSA, RES).
