Syed Absar Ali
Absar Ali is currently working as a Research Assistant with the Education Financing at CERP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Clark University. Absar has previously worked with the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations in New York and has also pursued various research projects during his time at Clark University. His previous research has focused on analyzing the growth of terrorist organizations, using path dependence as a means to explain the impact of ideological politics on long term political stability in countries, and on the economic effects of globalization—specifically the deindustrialization of Bengal’s cotton textile industry during the 1800s. He wrote his honours thesis on the impact of Pakistan's international trade policies on its industrial growth, for which he received highest honours.
